Today I went into Childrens to get my picc line placed. It was the best picc line experience I have had! They have a new outpatient process to put them in and it ran so smoothly. For the first time ever I was sedated for the entire procedure, though I usually don’t have any pain or problems with it, it helped to keep me relaxed and comfortable. Also, I usually have the picc put in the crease of my elbow but today they put it just above the crease of my elbow and I LOVE it, I can fully bend my arm without any problems and it is soooo much more comfortable.
Now i’m just waiting for all the meds to come and for the homecare nurse to arrive and we’ll get this show on the road!
